So I decided to take a break until the season but with pre-season just a few days away, I've decided to consider my top 5 in a variety of positions, firstly I'm going to run down my top five quarterbacks. I've weighed a number of factors, including age, health concerns and supporting cast.
I'm sure everyone has their own opinion to how the top 5 quarterbacks should sit but without further ado, enjoy my rankings and hit me up on twitter @TheRookieSeason and discuss.
1. Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers
I don't think there would be many arguments over my decision to place Rodgers at #1 in my rankings. The best QB in the league with such incredible talent and always steps up to the plate when the chips are down. In the NFC Championship game, he bought out the best in his team even with a calf issue and if it wasn't for the awful special teams play, we could of been talking about a Packers vs Patriots Superbowl. It helps that he has one of the best trios in the league with Nelson, Cobb & Lacy.
2. Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers
Most people would argue that I'm an idiot for putting Big Ben at #2 on these rankings heading into the 2015 season. For the last two years, #7 has been a force at the position posting back to back 4000+ yard seasons. His performance against the Colts last season (522 Yards & 6 TD's) made him the only player in history to throw 500 yards twice in a game. He boasts some of the best supporting cast in the league with Leveon Bell, Antonio Brown & 2nd Year Receiver Martavis Bryant.
3. Tom Brady, New England Patriots
There are a few things that are keeping Tom Brady at #3 on my rankings going into 2015. Firstly, he is heading into his age 38 season so he is the oldest of the 5 QB's on my list. Secondly, he has a 4 game suspension that is looming over him which isn't going to help him get ready for the season. However, he is one of the best QB's in the game and plays every game with a chip on his shoulder which always resonates with his team mates around him. I think Brady leads the Patriots to one more Superbowl during his time in New England but not this season. Gronk is also a huge factor on the success of Brady because if he stays healthy, #12 is almost unstoppable.
4. Andrew Luck, Indianapolis Colts
The main thing that Luck has against him in my QB rankings for the 2015 season is his age. The 3 people above him have tons more experience and Superbowls than him. However, I believe this year is his best year to move up that list for next season as the Colts have added some talented pieces to his supporting cast. Luck will need to overcome his Kryptonite (The Patriots) if he is going to take that next step.
5. Russell Wilson, Seattle Seahawks
Russell Wilson has finally got his big contract that everyone has been talking about this off-season. It might of been even bigger had it not been for Butler's heroics back in February, it would of been his 2nd Superbowl in as many years. Unfortunately for Wilson, he hasn't had a elite receiver to throw to which the Seahawks are hoping that Jimmy Graham becomes during his 1st Season in Seattle.
