Following on from my "Mock Draft 2015 Picks 1-10" post yesterday, I am now going to follow up with my choices for picks 11-21.
11. Minnesota Vikings
The Pick Devante Parket
The Vikings could easily go with a cornerback with this pick but I think they are going to go with Bridgewater's old college receiver. Parker is a big, aggressive pass catcher with great running ability. Minnesota would benefit from adding Parker as the chemistry between him and Bridgewater would be instant and he would become their no.1 guy in that wide receiver group.
12. Cleveland Browns
The Pick: Kevin White
After missing out on a top receiver in last year's draft. The Browns have to make amends with another talent rich receiver group. Kevin White would fit perfectly into the Browns offence, he would give them a true no.1 receiver. White is an extremely talented guy with great leaping, hands and high-pointing ability to be a factor as a deep-threat.
13. New Orleans Saints
The Pick: Bud Dupree
I had the Saints taking Shane Ray with this pick but due to the current issue with Ray's off the field antics. I think the Saints will still take an Edge Rusher and that guy is Bud Dupree. He is an explosive, powerful athlete with a huge amounts of potential. I think Bud's production in his rookie season will depend on the situation he falls into with his defensive co-ordinator.
14. Miami Dolphins
The Pick: Trae Waynes
Miami have added some seriously good pieces to their roster this year. I think they require someone to pair up with Brent Grimes. Trae Waynes is that guy; he is a disruptive corner with length, deep speed and confidence to handle himself down the field. The only thing he will need to work on is his hands in man coverage as NFL Officials will find him too handsy. This may result in a number of penalties given against him.
15. San Francisco 49ers
The Pick: Arik Armstead
The 49ers have lost a lot of talent on the defensive side of the ball this offseason. Arik Armstead would fit perfectly into their 3-4 defence with his elite size and the ability to become a dominant run-stuffing defensive end in the 3-4 front. He is a raw talent and will need patience when he comes into the league whilst continuing to learn his craft. Armstead will need to become a more effective pass rusher at some point too.
16. Houston Texans
The Pick: Nelson Agholor
The Texans lost Andre Johnson this offseason to the Colts. Automatically, this would mean that Hopkins would get the nod as the heir to the number 1 wideout throne in Houston. Nelson is an intelligent, instinctive receiver and probably the 2nd best route runner in this year's draft. Houston could use him in the slot and on punt return duties and he would be an asset from day 1.
17. San Diego Chargers
The Pick: Todd Gurley
I'd be surprised if the Chargers passed up on using their pick on Todd Gurley. His ACL tear last year will scare teams in the short-term but if he can recover before the start of this season, the Chargers would of obtained one of the most explosive players in the draft. Gurley is a powerhouse and would complement Rivers in the San Diego backfield if he manages to stay healthy. He still has plenty of tread in his tyres due to the limited amount of snaps he played in college.
18. Kansas City Chiefs
The Pick: Andrus Peat
Head Coach Andy Reid has signed his receiver and could pick up another later on in this draft. He is known to be a fan of a strong offensive line, that's why he will pick Peat here. He has the right tools to be a successful tackle at the NFL level. He has the skills to be an upper-tier run blocker but will need to improve his technique in the passing game.
19. Cleveland Browns (from the Buffalo Bills)
The Pick: Malcom Brown
I think Cleveland will go with Malcom Brown with the 19th pick. He will help strengthen up their defensive front and can fit anywhere on a 4-3 or 3-4 defence which will be a benefit to a Browns defence which struggled against the run last year. Brown can help them out with his instincts to get into the backfield on the snap.
20. Philadelphia Eagles
The Pick: Landon Collins
I think Chip Kelly will pick for need here and they need to fill that secondary with a safety. The only option in the first round for this position is Landon Collins. The only concern with Collins is his ability in coverage as he is best known for when he is on the attack. His tackling, pursuit angles and speed to the side-line can help the defence against the rushing attack.
21. Cincinnati Bengals
The Pick: Shane Ray
The Bengals struggled with their pass rush last season and I think they get Ray at a good price. It has emerged that his off the field antics aren't great but I think he stays in the late first round. It is hard to find many weaknesses for him apart from his size could be a factor. However he pursues the quarterback and plays like every down will be his last down. If he falls to the Bengals, they will receive an automatic upgrade to the pass rush from last season.
Make sure you stop by tomorrow lunchtime on Draft day where I will finish my mock draft and give my final view on the upcoming Draft.
